The Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)

 

CNHC is the UK voluntary regulator for complementary healthcare practitioners that was set up with government support to protect the public by providing a UK voluntary register of complementary therapists. CNHC's register has been approved as an Accredited Register by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care. This means CNHC has met the Professional Standards Authority’s demanding standards. General Medical Council (GMC) guidance confirms that doctors are able to refer patients to practitioners on Accredited Registers.

 

All CNHC registered practitioners are entitled to use CNHC’s quality mark which demonstrates a commitment to professionalism and high standards. CNHC Registration

CNHC has agreed that Complementary Health Professionals (CHP) may verify applications for CNHC registration for massage, sports massage, aromatherapy, reflexology  and reiki, and we encourage members to register in order to gain the CNHC quality mark. If you have any queries please contact Complementary Health Professionals by email at: enquiries@complementaryhealthprofessionals.co.uk or by telephone on 0333 577 3340.

 

Once we’ve received your Request to Register form we will consider the information you have provided.  Please EMAIL the completed form and DO NOT SEND IT BY POST as we are an online company. If you do send it by post, there can be delays of up to 3 weeks.

CHP members get this service for FREE - without charge. This means that we will do all the paperwork and mapping exercises for you without any additional fees being charged by CHP.

The administration fee for non member applications is set at £20.00 per therapy for a straightforward application. The fee for a more complex application is £60.00 per therapy, such as an older qualification that we need to spend time investigating and completing a full mapping exercise or an international qualification. We will usually be able to tell you which fee applies but occasionally what appears to be simple turns out to be more complex and in this case we will inform you that an additional fee is required.

 

Administration fees are non-refundable. We will not commence the verification until the required fee has been paid as we have to do the work first in order to give you a decision on your qualification status.
